2011 INDEPENDENT GROCER OF THE YEAR AWARD WINNERS
TORONTO, October 31, 2011 - The 49th Annual Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year Awards Ceremony was presented on Tuesday, October 25 in Toronto, in front of a gala audience of over 500 leading grocers, suppliers, and distributors at Grocery Innovations Canada 2011, Canada’s premier grocery conference and tradeshow.

SCOTT ADAMS NAMED 2011 RECIPIENT OF THE CFIG NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
TORONTO, October 26, 2011 - Cori Bonina, Immediate Past Chair of Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG) Board of Directors and John F.T. Scott, President and CEO of CFIG, are pleased to announce that Scott Adams of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has been named the recipient of the 2011 CFIG National Scholarship.

It’s a wrap for Grocery Innovations Canada 2011
TORONTO, October 26, 2011 - The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG) proved yet again, that Grocery Innovations Canada has everything the industry needs. CFIG has wrapped up two solid days of innovative grocery exhibits, informative conferences and industry awards presentations at its annual trade show, with close to 5,000 people attending the event, among them some of Canada’s top grocery retailers.

Grocery Innovations Canada Announces the Top 10 Most Innovative Products for 2012
TORONTO, October 25, 2011 - The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG) has announced its “Top 10 Most Innovative Products” for 2012 at day two of Grocery Innovations Canada, its annual trade show and conference. Canadian grocers and industry delegates in attendance voted on the innovative products, after having the opportunity to test and review hundreds of new products for the upcoming year.

Michelle Sousa Bags Another Win at 2011 Canadian Best Bagger Competition
TORONTO, October 25, 2011 - Michelle Sousa of Vaughan, Ontario has bagged herself a grocery industry hat-trick, winning the 2011 Canadian Best Bagger Competition for an unprecedented third year in a row. Grocery Innovations Canada hosted the seventh annual contest sponsored by Interac, which tests the bagging skills of employees from participating independent grocery stores across Canada.
