Bill Dunne Stepping Down from Acosta
Most of the people in the CFIG family will be shocked to learn of the decision by Bill Dunne to step down from his position at Acosta Canada at the end of the year as he is looking forward to pursuing new vistas in life. Bill Dunne has contributed a great deal to CFIG and the AMC. He personifies dedication and integrity - increasingly rare qualities in this fast paced, difficult industry. He has always taken the time to provide compassion when required; share in celebrations where appropriate and offer thoughtful support in the wake of personal achievements. His comments have always been "right on" and consistently delivered in a personal style – simply his signature. He made so many great friends in our community across this country and I know those friendships will be maintained as he moves to the future.
Bill Dunne has been a great friend of the independent grocer in Canada. A million thanks – the very best to you and Lisa as you set off on new adventures in life’s every changing journey.
On November 30th, 2012 Acosta Canada issued the following statement:
It is with regret that we announce Bill Dunne’s decision to depart Acosta. Bill has been an integral part of Acosta Canada’s business team for over 10 years, and has served as President of Acosta Canada for the past seven years. Bill has had an accomplished career in the CPG industry, has a stellar reputation among customers and clients, and is recognized as an industry leader. He will be missed by the Acosta family. Bill has elected to step down in order to pursue other passions, and new business dreams and goals. His last day with Acosta will be December 30.
We thank Bill for his dedicated leadership, for his fierce competitiveness, and for the commitment he shows every day. We wish him the best of luck as he pursues his dreams.
We are equally excited to announce Shaun McKenna as President of Acosta Canada. Shaun will lead the newly integrated Acosta and Mosaic sales and merchandising business unit. He will assume this expanded responsibility effective January 1, 2013. Shaun will work alongside Jeff Rogers who leads Mosaic in Canada to bring integrated solutions to the marketplace.
For the past year Shaun has led Mosaic’s sales and merchandising business in Canada, after leading the integration of Mosaic and CIM. In late 2011 Shaun joined Mosaic from CIM where as a partner and SVP he led the Sales Management division providing sales and merchandising expertise to a number of Fortune 500 clients in a multitude of trade channels, including the food, retail, entertainment, home improvement, and telecom. In his 16 years at CIM, Shaun helped build a company that was recognized as one of Canada’s best managed companies for 10 consecutive years. He began his career at the Coca Cola Bottling Company where he held various positions of increased responsibility in sales and distribution management prior to joining CIM. Shaun is a graduate of The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, with an HBA (Honors Business Administration).
We expect a smooth leadership transition and appreciate your support of Shaun in his new role.
